Content Strategy

Every element of our content process starts with strategy. Throughout the strategy, we were able to dive into our audience analysis and prior highest-performing content to find that the audience favors Reels with humor, so we knew we wanted to incorporate this into our content day.

Content Preparation and Planning

We created a collaborative Google Sheet for planning this content day. To create this video brief, we like to include the following categories:

  1. Time Block

  2. Filming Location

  3. Outfit

  4. Description

  5. Video Type

  6. Models

  7. Prop List

  8. Client Notes Section

  9. Inspiration/Audio

From these items, we created sublists per person for items to bring for the day. We then frequently referred back to this list for the day of to ensure we were executing the items with the proper audio, duration, props, outfits, and locations.

Content Day

Then, it was time to bring the video brief to life! Our strategy involved a two-person filming team - one dedicated to the primary footage and another focusing on capturing engaging B-Roll. This approach allowed us to capture different perspectives with the content. While setting up shots, we constantly referenced both our video brief and overarching strategy, ensuring that every frame aligned seamlessly with how our audience prefers to consume content.

Content Editing

Capturing content is just the beginning; the real impact happens in the editing process! Careful editing can elevate a video and maintain that professional edge. We rely on VEED, an online video editing tool. It not only streamlines the editing process but also automatically generates closed captions, ensuring accessibility for all audiences. Additionally, VEED allows for custom colors and font importing, so the video perfectly fits within the branding guidelines to further foster brand recognition.

The Results

As we mentioned, the views blew up on this Reel with 1.5 million views on Facebook and 212,000 views on Instagram, and counting! Beyond the views, this Reel received over 200 comments, and 2k likes on Instagram. On Facebook, this Reel reached 1.3k comments, 300+ shares, and almost 3k likes.

These results show that carefully strategized and planned video content can lead to amazing organic results on Instagram. Reels can be an important tool for gaining traction and generating engagement throughout your audience and beyond.
